Tuscany and Umbria by train. A treasure in the heart of Italy.

Val d'Orcia

Val d’Orcia, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is located in the very heart of the Senese territory. Its rolling hills and their silhouettes hemmed with cypresses have a special place in the collective imagination of Tuscany lovers from around the world.

The Brunello, a wine indigenous to Montalcino, is made in the vineyards that adorn this valley. Small towns are sprinkled through Val d’Orcia up to the slopes of the Amiata mountain.

From the Rocca di Radicofani you can pass through the enchanted burg of Monticchiello and reach Pienza, the Ideal City. San Quirico and its old city center is a must see in the route to San Giovanni d’Asso, the homeland of truffle – to be tasted rigorously with a glass of red wine.

The invigorating thermal baths of Bagno Vignoni and Bagni San Filippo will soothe you at the end of your pilgrimage through one of the most suggestive and magic valleys of Tuscany.
