The “White Giant” Valley: Chianina in Sinalunga and Cortona

Valdichiana is the land of origin of the Chianina breed, i.e. the largest calf in the world.

We will take you on a visit to a breeding farm in Sinalunga where you will closely observe the beauty, the meekness and the big size of this magnificent animal with a white coat.

You will discover the history of the Chianina breed and its deep connection with this territory. Nowadays, their meat is considered one of the best in the world. After the visit of the breeding farm, you will taste the PGI Chianina meat in different versions, such as tartare, roast beef and carpaccio.

Afterwards, you will enjoy a visit to the main cultural and tourist center of the Val di Chiana in the province of Arezzo, i.e. Cortona, with a stop at Palazzo Casali, which now houses the Museum of the Etruscan Academy and the City of Cortona (MAEC).

To conclude this itinerary, you cannot miss a visit to a winery producing Cortona DOC and Cortona Syrah DOC wine, to taste two real excellences of this territory, paired with genuine local cheeses and cold cuts.
