Etruscan Tuscan Heritage: trail across the history of the Etruscans

A journey through the history of the ancient Etruscan civilization that inhabited Tuscany and Central Italy from the 7th century BC.

Etruscan themed visit in Valdichiana to discover the uses and customs of a civilization that has marked the Italic culture.

PROGRAM

DAY 1
Arrival and check-in at the hotel - half board.
Visit of the Etruscan Museum of Chianciano Terme, where history is relived in thematic sections that illustrate all aspects of the life and death of the Etruscans. The museum houses one of the most important collections of Etruscan canopes in Italy. We point out in particular: the Pediment of the Tempio dei Fucoli, the statue of Thesan, the Etruscan goddess of Dawn and a situliform vase with monstrous figures.
The day ends with a swim at the Theia Thermal Pools in Chianciano Terme.

DAY 2
Visit of the village of Sarteano and its castle with guide.
Visit to the Archaeological Civic Museum of Sarteano, where the treasures found in the nearby necropolis and a perfect reconstruction of the Tomb of the Infernal Quadriga are exhibited (the Tomb can be visited only on Saturday morning with advance booking).
At the end, departure for Chiusi, the Etruscan city of the Chiusi lucumone Porsenna, for a visit to the Civic Museum "The underground city", with its 120 meters of underground galleries, the only exhibition in Italy entirely dedicated to the funerary epigraphy of the Etruscan people. .
Here we also suggest a visit to the National Etruscan Museum where it is possible to admire the Sphinx of Chiusi, an icon of the Etruscan civilization
