Abbadia San Salvatore - Bike tour of Tuscany’s forgotten volcano, the Amiata Mountain
It used to be the Holy Mountain for Etruscans; today, it is Tuscany’s unacknowledged volcano.
The Amiata Mountain is a hub of life and cultures in a complex, hybrid land nestled between the Val d’Orcia and southern Maremma. This mountain has named and molded the land surrounding it: a personality forged by natural forces and elements, under the shadow of a dormant volcano.
The Etruscan civilization flourished at the Amiata’s roots, and there it lived working the tuff and cinnabar that originated from past eruptions.
Hop on your bike and come discover the trails, the flavors and the millenary customs of the Amiata.
