In the gorgeous setting of the “Fiaccole di Natale” (Christmas torches), the Christmas Markets are organized in the Old Town of Abbadia San Salvatore. The village is placed on the slope of Monte Amiata in the province of Siena and takes its name from a 743 A.D. Benedictine Abbey. Today, you can visit only the church and the crypt.

In this village, the thousand-year old tradition of the “Fiaccole” (Torches) is still alive. In the streets of the Old Town, featuring 7-meter high pyramidal piles of wood. These piles light up the night of Christmas Eve and they burn until sunrise, surrounded by music and stands offering typical desserts and mulled wine.

The appointment is in Piazzale Michelangelo, From Dicember 8th to January 6th, with food and wine stands, Christmas decorations, craft works and cooking shows.

There will be also space for street theatre thanks to the Drago nero Company.

Then, if you love street food and craft works, take a walk in Viale Roma.
